A Fred Thompson Irony
In light of Fred Thompson’s withdrawal from the 2008 Presidential race, something Glenn Reynolds said earlier this week sums up nicely what I had been thinking about the Thompson campaign:
“Weirdly, a lot of people are unhappy that Fred Thompson isn’t running well, but not a lot of people seem to have, you know, actually voted for, or donated to, Fred.” (Instapundit)
Ahh well, I still thought Fred was the best candidate. Now, it’s back to the drawing board! Meanwhile, Patrick Cox provides a good overview of Fred’s campaign over at Pajamas Media.

Quote from http://www.mullings.com by Rich Galen….
“It is strange that the qualities we are looking for in a sitting President – thoughtful, calm, and serious – are exactly the qualities which we penalize in those running for President.”
It almost makes you wonder if a person you would actually LIKE to vote for could EVER get into office. Instead you have to pick the Best out of the ones left standing after the primaries.
So who are you going to vote for Ray now that Thompson is out? I really liked and supported Fred but due to financial difficulties, was unable to lend financial support.
Now that he is out, I do not know who shares similar values.
God bless,
Anthony
Tom – Great quote from Rich Galen. It makes you think. Thanks!
Anthony – It is hard to say. At this point I am still undecided. I was really hoping Fred would stay in the race at least through the Massachusetts primary so I could give him my vote.
Right now I would lean towards Romney first, then Huckabee and then McCain. But any of them could still get my vote on primary day.
I am not a Rudy Giuliani supporter. Some people have been floating the idea of a Guiliani/Thompson ticket. That would really confuse things for me!
