Afraid of Death No More

Sunday’s Easter message was called Afraid of Death No More, taken from Hebrews 2:14-15 and other Scriptures. Here is a brief outline of the message:

Seven fears related to death:
   1) Fear of the process: Jesus is with you
      – Psalm 23:4
   2) Fear of non-existence: You will be alive and well
      – John 11:25-26
   3) Fear of bodily decay: You will receive a new body
      – 1 Corinthians 15:51-54; Philippians 3:21
   4) Fear of loss: To live is Christ and to die is gain
      – Philippians 1:21
   5) Fear of punishment: No condemnation for those in Christ
      – Romans 8:1
   6) Fear of leaving loved ones behind: We will be together
      – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
   7) Fear of the unknown: Heaven will be perfect in every way
      – 1 Corinthians 2:9; Revelation 21:1-4

Three questions:
   1) Where did I come from?
   2) Where am I going?
   3) What happens when I get there?
      – Hebrews 10:26-27; Matthew 28:5)

  1. BORIS J MATERNE says:

Ray: Just to say thank you again for all of your sermon outlines and your generosity in sharing those with the public. I used your outlines in our Sunday School study of I Samuel. I sure wish you had II Samuel online also, but it was great to have your extensive notes. I was very careful not to change any of the content except I use the Authorized King James Bible and so does everybody else in our church. But that is the only change I made. Thank you again.

Boris: Thank you for your comment. It is always encouraging to hear how God is using the various materials posted on the website.

I am glad you found the messages from 1 Samuel helpful. I have not had the privilege to teach or preach through 2 Samuel yet, but perhaps the Lord will lead in that direction one of these days.

May God continue to bless you and your Sunday School class as you study his word together.

    Ray,

Discovered your website and resources when you commented about the weaned child when I was studying Psalm 131. So searched you and found your wonderful website and set of resources.

Love what you’ve built out as a resource center and how you’re using digital media to engage your world of influence and interaction.

God bless you, your family, church and broader ministry.
