Easter Fools Day
Sunday’s message was an Easter sermon called Easter Fools Day, taken from Psalm 53:1. Here is a brief outline of the message:
“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’”
(Psalm 53:1)
I. We know God exists because of creation
A. God’s power and glory are clearly seen from what has been made (Rom 1:19-20)
B. We are foolish to exchange God’s glory for anything else (Rom 1:21-23)
II. We know God loves us because he sent his Son
A. God sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 4:9-10)
B. The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing (1 Cor 1:18)
III. We know God saves us because Jesus rose from the dead
A. God promised he would send us a Savior (Rom 1:1-2)
B. Jesus was shown to be God’s Son by his resurrection (Rom 1:3-4)
IV. Who’s the real fool?
A. If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, Christians are the real fools (1 Cor 15:14)
B. How foolish and slow of heart not to believe (Luke 24:25-27)
