What’s funny is that the Central Bank actually could make a 5 dollar bill link to a gallon of gas. Or, similarly it could link to the time tested money of the ages: a fixed quantity of gold. Why not view a dollar as a scientific measure — no different than a gram or gallon?
Alex - I think I would stick with the time-tested measure of gold. Can you imagine how wildly our economy would fluctuate if our money were tied to the price of oil? Ouch!
