HT: That Was Funny

    As you know Ray, my Dad is a retired school teacher. He used to give a quiz at the start of the school year to see how well students paid attention to directions. He would hand out a quiz with a few very difficult math problems on it. He would tell them to “read through” the entire test before attempting to answer any of the questions. The directions at the top of the page also stated this. After 15 minutes of watching pencil erasers flying, heads being scratched and frustrated looks, the students would come to the last question that stated, Now that you have read through the entire quiz, sign your name at the top of the page and hand your paper in. Got them every time.

    Hi Jeff,

    I remember your Dad telling me about that test once. What a great way to teach students the importance of following directions.

    I’ve had that trick played on me! 0: And no, it’s not as funny as it sounds. ( ;
