Bigsby Show Bible Books Video and Song
The Bigsby Show has a great video and song to help children (and adults) learn the books of the Bible. Music is a great way to memorize. I still use the song that I learned as a child for the New Testament books to get the order right (and that’s after going to seminary!).
(Video length: 2:57)

- Guitar chords are available for free here.

Need some more Bigsby before you go? Here’s “Frogs, Frogs, Frogs” from the Lake Charles show. (Video length: 1:11)
in my opinion….great words (can’t go wrong with the books of the Bible)….horrible music….all in all, quite unsingable, quite forgettable and won’t stand the test of time….but that’s just an “old fogies” opinion.
Don – I was wondering about that myself. I know I couldn’t sing this, but the kids in the videos seem to be having a grand time singing along. I wonder if the version I learned (very singable, very memorable) would be too hokie for kids today. (Hmm, now I’m wondering if the word “hokie” is too hokie for kids today.)
I have to agree. I think this would be hard to remember and to sing without the music. The song we learned was a lot simpler…and I still sing it in my head too! Though I like the ending words to this one.
I also confess using the “Go Eat Pop-Corn” (Galatians, Ephesians, Philipians, Corinthians) to remember the order sometimes…but songs work the best. You should hear what my team mates would come up with on our missions trip when we had to memorize a verse a day. Groovy music all the same…oops is groovy too old as well? =)
Here’s a youtube video of a 4-year-old singing the Bigsby Bible Books song without the music 😉

Lisa – Well I guess that settles the question of whether or not kids can sing the song. Thanks for sharing!
We thought the books of the bible song was great! Love that it reminds us of a certain popular British band. My husband is a pastor and writes music as well, and he’s singing this song all day long, not to mention that our 2-year old is singing along with us without the music, so it’s great! I learned another version of Bible book songs and I’ve heard other ones, but this one is way more catchy and fun. Go, Bigsby!
cool song I love it
Christina and Dan – Glad you enjoyed the song!
Hi, I have been looking for a catchy tune for learning the books of the bible for 6th and 7th graders. This is really fits the bill, so to speak. I have it going around in my head now too. Thank you for making a fun and memorable way for kids and older kids (myself included!) to remember the books of the bible!
Tricia – I trust your students will enjoy the song!
I like Rachel way of learning. what the rest of them ?Song sometime work for me but it seem like I have times where just saying help thanks!A
I’m 63 years old and ran our kids club for many years. Because of illness I retired from it 2 years ago. I absolutely LOVED your song! It is a great way to learn, the music is what’s so popular now (and I love it), and kids are quicker to learn than we think. Kids don’t get stuck in a rut like we tend to do with age either. I know my grandkids will love this song, thank you. I appreciate your talent.
