1-Year Blogiversary Bash!

(Please sign the guest list below!)

Cupcake with Candle

Today is the one-year anniversary of my blog, so I thought I would celebrate with some blog-related posts over the next couple days. It has been a fun year, and I have enjoyed writing and sharing my thoughts with you. Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to visit. You make it all worthwhile. As someone once said, “If you don’t have visitors, you don’t have a blog. You have a journal!”

One of the reasons I started blogging was to meet new people, and I have enjoyed getting to know many of you through your comments and emails. But there are a lot of you I have yet to meet, so I would like to open up the comments today for people to introduce themselves. I believe other readers of the blog would like to meet you too!

Even if you have never commented here before, please consider leaving a comment today. You may share as much or as little about yourself as you wish. Your name (or nickname), general location, and what you do are always good for starters. If you have a blog or website, feel free to post a link. This is a great opportunity for us all to get to know each other a little better.

So, who will be first? 🙂

  1. I’m Gunny, from Texas, and I’m a regular reader, occasional commenter.

I am the pastor of a Reformed & Southern Baptist congregation and do a little teaching on the side at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (teaching preaching).

I ride a Harley, weather permitting, and also am a blogger.

My blog is SEMPER REFORMANDA (http://gunny93.blogspot.com/), which is Latin for “Always Reforming.”

I’ve got a wife of almost 15 years and have four kiddos.

Congratulations on a great year and I look forward to more to come.

    Soli Deo gloria,
    Gunny

I am Sharon from New Hampshire and read your blog daily. I teach piano, work with Moms In Touch International, and keep busy with my church as well. I have two grown daughters, one married and one engaged. Life is full and fun and I am grateful. I am married to a Christian school teacher and we are blessed to have a great relationship. I like the variety in your blog. I never know when I visit whether you are going to make me laugh, intrigue me with a weird bit of news, or make me think deeply about a spiritual truth. Happy Blogiversary and keep up the good work!!

Congratulations on your Blogiversary! I enjoy the blog, catch up on it most days. Appreciate the sermon soundbytes, all kinds of news, tributes to other Christians, such as Ruth Graham and Larry Norman, – I also like the humor and the comments. The blog contest was fun too.

I live in Maine, and we have four wonderful children, and ten wonderful grand-children. One of our sons just happens to be you, Ray!!

Your Dad and I are very involved in our local church here in Kennebunk, and have a busy life as seniors. We think of ourselves as junior seniors! We thank God for His incredible blessings on our lives and our marriage of 52 years.

    Hi I’m Rachael,
I’m a homeschooled student in New England, I enjoy your blog alot and read it almost everyday! I don’t have a job (besides babysitting) but my favorite subjects are art and Spanish (which SOMEBODY’S wife teaches) 🙂

    Great Blog Pastor Ray!

  5. I started reading your blog by following a link from another (can’t remember which one). I liked it so much, I added it to my Bloglines.

I started blogging about 1 1/2 years ago after my daughter kept encouraging me to do so (more like nagging me). It has been a great deal of fun.

I often quote Lewis (from the movie Shadowlands) that we “read to know we are not alone”. I believe we also “blog to know we are not alone”. There are a lot more likeminded people out there than one would have realized.

I am a full time college student so I am looking for guest bloggers for times that I am busy with school. Any people interested can leave a comment on my site or email me.

Congrats, Ray! I’m beginning to visit daily, now. Love the comments by all. We’re celebrating our 25th this year as is one of the other commenters. I’m the youth director at Agawam Church of the Bible, Ray’s church, and love working with the youth. They keep my mind working and at 63 (almost) that’s important! Praise God and keep on blogging.

Congratulations, Ray! I’ve enjoyed following your blog–the variety of topics and the interesting links you give as well as your sermon insights.

I live in Central Florida and love it here. I’m a single mom of four, trying to make ends meet and be as good a mom as I can in the situation. For now, I homeschool two of my children, one of whom has learning disabilities. I also do medical transcription out of my home part time.

Thanks everyone for signing the guest book and sharing in the blogiversary celebration. It was nice to meet some new people, if only in name, and to learn a little more about the readership of this blog. I trust it was fun for you to “meet” some of the other readers in this way too.

    Onward!

    Ray
